Ashridge Estate

As much as the beautiful landscapes of Colorado impressed me nothing quite beats the British countryside. And even though the autumn colours haven't peaked yet, it was still a nice, long and tiring walk through the estate towards the Ivanhoe Beacon, overlooking the Aylesbury Plain. Much of the views offered great layers and depth. These were all shot with either the Olympus 12-40mm F/2.8 or (and mostly) the 40-150mm F/2.8 with MC-14 teleconverter attached, mounted on the E-M5. I must say, the teleconverter, while extending the maximum reach to 210mm F/4 (420mm FF equivalent) didn't really sacrifice much sharpness. Impressive.

Thank you for the great shots. The English countryside is definitely awesome! I visited you blog today for the first time after reading your article about talent in photography. I find your article to be very deep and very inspiring and encouraging for everybody.
I would like to ask about these shots of the British countryside. Is it my impression or they all have a hazy effect? Is it from a very humid atmosphere? Also, the colours in some photographs look "old". They appear to have been shot using a film and scanned afterwards. Is this the case?
Keep up the good work!

Georgios thank you for stopping by. I'm glad you liked my article on Photography Life :)
The day I shot these it was particularly hazy and I actually had to bring out the images with a little contrast. Everything was shot on digital. Maybe they look old from the way I processed them.
Many thanks :)

The result is very interesting. I would say that they really reproduce the humid greenish British landscape.
