Iguassu Falls - Part Two

Having been overwhelmed by the Falls on the Argentinian side, I might be forgiven for approaching waterfall fatigue. But the views on the Brazilian side were just as spectacular, not least because of how close we were able to come at times to the water. Naturally, with the inevitable spray and mist, this made capturing a photo near on impossible. But again, it was something really to be experienced and felt rather than photographed. After walking along the tracks to see the Falls from a safe distance we climbed onto a small boat to venture into them. Since my camera was packed away in a waterproof duffel bag I can only the describe the sheer thrill of being taken directly under the raging water and getting soaked down to one's bones. The power of the falls was so immense and the rush of water so intense you could barely keep your eyes open or breathe properly. Like Mother Nature emptying a tsunami on top of your head. You could really only feel it. Kind of an exciting form of water-boarding, I suppose.  That was undoubtedly the highlight of the day. Some of the images here have been rendered in B+W to clarify the force, movement, and sheer volume of the water. I used a polarising filter and some ND Grads again, but as before there was too much sun. Plenty of rainbows, though. And again, I tried to close in and focus on details rather than make futile attempts to capture the expanse of the Falls. All images were taken with the EM-5 and the Olympus 12-40mm F/2.8 and 40-150mm F/2.8.
