Jena's Tower Bridge Shoot
Jena's Tower Bridge Shoot

Jena and I met one evening last week did some shooting around Tower Bridge. Well, actually Jena did most of the shooting, and used my camera and prime lenses; I wanted her to experience the sharpness of the primes, and also help her capture some long exposures.. (She has a Canon, and I have a Nikon so we weren't able to interchange!)

We used the Nikkors 35mm F/2 AF-D, 50mm F/1.8G AF-S, and Tokina 11-16mm F/2.8. I think Jena also used her Canon 75-300mm lens too.

Again, she found many creative angles and took some great long exposures, in some images capturing the stars too! No mean feat under London's pervasive ambient lighting!

Love this angle!! The composition is excellent as is the mix of primary colours within the shot.

We had an almost full Moon between the Towers!

I gave Jena the 50mm F/1.8G AF-S and suggested she use the restrictive focal length (75mm on DX) to train her compositional eye.

That speck of light above HMS Belfast is probably the planet Venus!

A wider shot with the Tokina revealed a few more stars!
