Views Over Rio De Janeiro

The most impressive aspect of Rio for me, and I suppose this is true of many sprawling cities, were the views of the city from various vantage points. On the ground I was less impressed and I may post some photos of the few things we did see while walking around. Most of these shots were taken from Christ The Redeemer, and as the sun began to set we headed for Sugar Loaf Mountain but just missed the dusk blue sky. With my stomach growling for a morsel I also neglected to bring my tripod, so many of the shots were taken hand-held. We witnessed the mother of all thunderstorms from up there, so it's entirely possibly the dusk was clouded over anyway. All images taken with the Olympus 12-40mm F/2.8 and 40-150mm F/2.8 on the EM-5.

Very nice shots

Craig HorsmanApr 16, 2015 12:40 PM

Hi, I am enjoying your blog. Found it from the Micro 4/3 vs DSLR Article you wrote for Photography Life. Very nice article, by the way. I suspect other's, like myself, are struggling to deal with the weight of DX and FX eqiupment and looking for a lighter weight option, especially as we ad on the years. Yours and several other photographers blogs convinced me to give the Olympus EM-5 a try, so I was also curious to see what lens are favored. Uncle Sam has made sure those zooms are out of my reach for now, but they seem very good pieces. Thanks for sharing. Craig

Thanks Craig. I hope you get to use the lenses of your choice very soon :)
